An EMRTS clinician has completed a series of professional challenges to be formally awarded Qualified Critical Care Practitioner (QCCP) status.
Derwyn Jones, who works from Wales Air Ambulance’s Dafen base, took part in the EMRTS Critical Care Practitioner (CCP) Development Pathway over several years, which requires sustained commitment across clinical practice, portfolio development, assessment, and ongoing professional development.
EMRTS Clinical Operations Manager Jason Hughes said: “Throughout this process, Derwyn has demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience, and professionalism.
“His commitment to continual learning and development, alongside his contributions to operational and clinical delivery, have been evident throughout, and this achievement is richly deserved.
“Completing the pathway reflects sustained hard work, commitment, and dedication, and is a significant accomplishment.”
He added: “As a service, we are extremely proud to see Derwyn reach this important milestone and formally achieve QCCP status within EMRTS.
“We also recognise that this is not the end of the journey, but an important step in an ongoing professional pathway. We look forward to supporting Derwyn as he progresses into the next phase of his development, including validation as an Advanced Practitioner within the Health Board.
“Please join us in congratulating Derwyn on this outstanding achievement and wishing him every success in the next stage of his career.”
