EMRTS has been working to reduce harm and improve the safety of mothers during pregnancy and childbirth.
The service recently hosted Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training (PROMPT Wales) at the Wales Air Ambulance bases in Dafen and Caernarfon, providing its staff with obstetric training and the chance to practise clinical skills and emergency scenarios.
The aim of PROMPT Wales training is to improve perinatal outcomes and is funded and coordinated by the Welsh Risk Pool.
Midwife and Safety & Learning Advisor with the Welsh Risk Pool Sara Jelfs said: “The feedback we received from EMRTS colleagues who attended the PROMPT Wales training days has been overwhelmingly positive, which is a testament to EMRTS’ dedication and commitment.”
“It's really inspiring to see how much everyone enjoyed and appreciated the event. Everyone’s efforts bring us closer to improving outcomes for women and babies within the community.”
Kate Humphries, EMRTS Education and Training Lead, added: This was such an important training event for us, and we really appreciate the support and training our colleagues at PROMPT Wales have given us to improve our obstetric management. I hope it’s the first of many occasions where PROMPT Wales and EMRTS get the opportunity to work together.
